Wet Your Whistle With Some Whiskey at Cool Vines

A Scotch tasting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening.

Central Avenue wine shop is inviting members of the community ages 21 and older to stop by from 6 to 8 p.m this evening for a chance to meet "Master of Whiskey," Peter O'Connor.

O'Connor, who hails from Ireland, will offer attendees a lesson on how to purchase, taste and serve different types of whiskey. The Irishman's love for whiskey and cocktails started when he began working in a Dublin bar. O'Connor also worked in one of Sydney, Australia's high-end spirit bars.

O'Connor has served as Ireland's Mixologist and Spirit brand Ambassador at the home of Guinness, St. James Gate Brewery and The Old Bushmills Distillery. He has earned his title as Master of Whiskey in the Garden State after training over 350 bars, hotels and restaurants in both Mixology and Spirit Knowledge. He continues to train staff and consumers on an ongoing basis.
