Who Is On The 2019 Ballot And Where To Vote In Westfield

The general election is this Tuesday. Check out where to vote and who your options are before you cast your ballot.

WESTFIELD, NJ - On Tuesday, Nov. 5 voters will be heading to the polls to cast their ballots in the general election. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

We sent out questions to all candidates involved in the race. Links to those who responded are attached to their names. You can click on them to read more about the candidates who chose to participate.

There are five seats on the Westfield Board of Education up for grabs Tuesday and eight candidates looking for a spot on the dais. Incumbents Amy Root of Harrison Avenue, J. Brendan Galligan of Pierson Street, Michael Bielen of Shadowlawn Drive and Robert S. Garrison of Kimball Avenue are running under the banner of "Tradition of Excellence."

Root, Galligan and Bielen are vying for a full three-year term and are opposed by Andrew Bauer of Knollwood Terrace and Patrick Justin Fahey of Columbus Avenue. Fahey has the slogan "Keep Kids Safe" attached to his campaign.

Garrison is running for a two-year unexpired term and he is being opposed by Noelle Ebler of Avon Road.

Brian Morrissey of Benson Place is running for a one-year unexpired term, according to the filing paperwork.

After a quiet primary, there are four races for Westfield council set for the November general election.

In the first ward, Democrat James G. Boyes is facing off against Republican Robert H. Benacchio.
The second ward contest will be between Democrat Mark Parmalee and Republican Richard Bodmer. Ward three has Democrat Jennifer Gilman squaring off with Republican Mark LoGrippo. The fourth ward will have Democrat Scott Katz competing with Doug Stokes.

While many did not participate in our questionnaire leading up to the election, many of the municipal candidates participated in a candidates forum.

Registered voters are assigned a specific election district and polling place according to their street address. Your election district and voting location are printed on the face of your Sample Ballot, which is mailed to registered voters before an election. A voters' polling location may also be searched by accessing the New Jersey Division of Elections Polling Place Locator.
