WHS Baseball Team Recognized for Outstanding Season

The Westfield High School baseball team was honored for its outstanding season by the Board of Education Monday evening. 

The Blue Devils (19-12) reached the NJSIAA Group 4 championship, rallying together for an exciting finish after a tepid start. Westfield fell to Eastern High School at Toms River High School North in the final game.

Board of Ed President Rich Mattessich described the individual players' achievements, illustrating the teamwork that created what some deemed a "magical season." 

Head coach Bob Brewster thanked the players' parents for their ongoing support and commended the team, particularly its seniors, for motivating each other on the road to the state tournament.
