Woman Charged With Theft, Forgery Of $1M: Union County Prosecutor

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — A Morris Plains woman was charged with theft and forgery of more than $1 million, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel announced today.

Martinia Heath, 43, was charged with one count of second-degree theft by deception, one count of second-degree impersonation and one count each of third- and fourth-degree forgery.

Corner Property Management of Springfield reached out to authorities prompting an investigation led by Sergeant Alex Lopez of the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Special Prosecutions Unit.

The investigation found that while employed as the on-site property manager at the Mountain Club Condominium complex in Morris County, Heath engaged in an elaborate scheme to defraud the company, said authorities.

Heath reportedly falsified records and correspondence, including fabricated invoices that resulted in a financial loss to Corner Property for more than $1 million between 2019 and 2023, said authorities.

Heath is scheduled to make her first court appearance in Union County on Jan. 30, 2025.
