$125 Million For West Orange Woman Hurt By Verizon Pole: Reports

A rotten utility pole fell on a West Orange woman and caused serious injuries, reports say.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A West Orange woman's family has settled a lawsuit with Verizon for $125 million after a rotten utility pole fell on her in January 2017, reports say.

Court documents stated the pole fell on Maria Moser Meister, 50, while she waited for a bus in Union City, NJ.com reported.

Meister was left brain damaged and partially paralyzed after the incident, the New Jersey Law Journal reported.

According to court documents, Verizon took full responsibility for the condition of the pole, which was partially rotted and had snapped at the base, NJ.com reported.
