Timothy Groves Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser Raffle Returns

As many of you know, Lisa and I established the Timothy Groves Memorial Scholarship with the West Orange Education Foundation in 2014 in memory of one of our dear friends, former West Orange police officer Timothy Groves. Officer Groves passed away in 2013 after fighting a valiant battle with cancer. Officer Groves was a pillar of the community, not only dedicated to his duties as a West Orange police officer, but also committed to helping the West Orange community, especially its youth. Given Officer Groves’s lifelong dedication to West Orange, it was fitting to keep his memory alive through a scholarship that benefits students who are hardworking, community-minded, and service-minded—just like he was.

For the second year in a row, we are doing something special for the end-of-year holidays in order to raise money for the Timothy Groves Memorial Scholarship. Together with the West Orange Education Foundation (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity), we are hosting the second annual raffle to aid the scholarship, with 100% of the raffle ticket proceeds directly benefiting the Timothy Groves Memorial Scholarship.

Raffle tickets are just $20 apiece, with many great prizes available:

• 2 Broadway tickets to Dear Evan Hansen
• 2 Platinum Lounge tickets to Celine Dion’s Courage World Tour in concert (with VIP parking and all-inclusive food + nonalcoholic drinks)
• 2 Lower-Level tickets to NJ Devils vs. NY Islanders (with parking pass)
• 2 Lower-Level tickets to NJ Devils vs. Philadelphia Flyers (with parking pass)
• 2 Lower-Level tickets to NJ Devils vs. Washington Capitals (with parking pass)
• 2 Lower-Level tickets to NJ Devils vs. Boston Bruins (with parking pass)

I truly hope that we can count on your generosity and support to help us raise funds for the scholarship. Since its inception in 2014, the scholarship has touched many lives, having provided need-based financial scholarships to 35 students to date.

Raffle tickets will be issued to those who enter the raffle, and raffle winners will be drawn and announced at 12pm on Friday, December 20, 2019, at West Orange’s Our Lady of Lourdes R. C. Church.
