WEST ORANGE, NJ — There are plenty of ways to celebrate the 2023 winter holidays in West Orange, including several local events and attractions.

Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish festival of lights, starts at sundown on Dec. 7 and ends at nightfall on Dec. 15. Christmas will follow on Dec. 25.

You don’t have to wait to start taking in all the sights and sounds of the season in West Orange, however.

The township’s annual tree lighting ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 at Town Hall, 66 Main Street. The event will also include live performances, a train ride, a petting zoo and another chance to meet Santa Claus – this time with photo opportunities.
