33-Year-Old Victim Dies After Shooting In East Orange: Police
A police investigation continues into a fatal shooting that claimed a man's life in East Orange, authorities said.
EAST ORANGE, NJ — A police investigation continues into a fatal shooting that claimed a 33-year-old man’s life in East Orange last week, authorities said Monday.
East Orange police responded to the 100-block of South Munn Avenue around 8 p.m. on Friday after getting a report about a shooting. Officers found a male victim at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the East Orange Police Department.
The victim – later identified as Kenyaitte Crute, 33, of East Orange – was transported to University Hospital in Newark. He was pronounced dead at 8:45 p.m.

The Essex County prosecutor’s homicide task force, which includes East Orange detectives, is investigating the shooting. No additional information was immediately available.
