4 West Orange Mayoral Candidates Will Appear On Ballot: 2022 Election
There are four candidates running for mayor in West Orange. Here's how many signatures each of them turned in, the town clerk's office said.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The four candidates for mayor in West Orange have turned in their petitions to the town clerk’s office, and each has gathered the minimum number of signatures to appear on the ballot for the town’s 2022 nonpartisan municipal election.
This year’s deadline to turn in petitions was Sept. 6. In addition to federal, state and county candidates, West Orange residents will be asked to cast votes for mayor, town council and the local board of education.
Candidates needed a minimum of 391 signatures. Here’s how many petitions each mayoral candidate turned in, according to the town clerk’s office:

- Joe Krakoviak – 447
- Cindy Matute-Brown – 959
- Susan McCartney – 588
- Bill Rutherford – 464
The town clerk's office told Patch that 391 petitions were ultimately certified for each candidate, as some were rejected. No details were immediately available about the reason.
West Orange Mayor Robert Parisi previously said that he is not running for mayor again in the municipal nonpartisan election, which will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Candidates do not choose political parties in a nonpartisan election.

Parisi – a former West Orange council member – first took office as mayor in 2010. He was re-elected as mayor in 2014 and 2018.
