7 Football Standouts At West Orange HS Sign With Colleges, Universities

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Seven seniors at West Orange High School recently signed with D2 and D3 colleges and universities in the second football signing event of the year.

Players, coaches, families and friends gathered for a signing ceremony earlier this week. The following players committed to colleges and universities:

  • Gregory Andrews – Western Connecticut State University (D3) – planned major: Finance
  • Caleb Loban – Rowan University (D3) – planned major: Cyber Security
  • Bashir Moss – Monroe College (D2) – planned major: Sports Management
  • Micah Howell – Assumption University (D2) – planned major: Business Administration
  • Brandon LaBanca – Norwich University (D3) – planned major: Accounting
  • Daniel Akinboyewa – Franklin Pierce University (D2) – planned major: Finance and Accounting
  • Jeremiah Barnes – Western Connecticut State University (D3) – planned major: Finance

Athletic director Stephan Zichella said the teens’ achievements are an “incredible accomplishment” for West Orange High School.

“This is a really special day,” Zichella said.

A separate high school signing event took place in West Orange last December.
