Three members of the West Orange High School ice hockey team came through recently to help fight a dangerous foe. And they got some help from a coach.
Juniors Luke Adelhelm and Zack Coppola, freshman Alec Hill and middle school coach Bill Viezel have raised $1,328 so far for shaving their heads March 5 in a fundraising effort to raise money for children stricken with cancer.
Adelhelm brought the idea over with him from Seton Hall Prep, where he attended school as a freshman. The event — sponsored by St. Baldrick's Foundation — took place at the Cedar Grove Elks.

The players said they would love to see donations continue. "It's really easy to do," said Adelhelm. "It's really something that was a no brainer when I got involved in it. It's great to help children who are sick."
