The City of East Orange invites residents, aspiring homeowners, and renters to attend the East Orange Housing and Homeownership Summit on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 11 am to 3 pm at the Cicely L. Tyson Community School of Performing and Fine Arts, 35 Winans Street, East Orange.
Hosted by the City of East Orange Department of Policy, Planning & Development in partnership with HomeQuest Realty Group and a coalition of banking, housing, legal, and community organizations, the summit is designed to provide residents with the tools, resources, and information needed to achieve and sustain homeownership.
Attendees will have direct access to lenders, housing counselors, legal experts, and community partners offering guidance on topics including:
Mayor Ted R. Green emphasized that the summit reflects the city’s continued commitment to expanding access to opportunity and helping residents build long-term stability through homeownership.
“Homeownership remains one of the strongest pathways to generational wealth, neighborhood stability, and economic empowerment,” said Mayor Green. “We want our residents to understand that it is never too early — or too late — to begin thinking about owning a home. For many families, it may seem out of reach, but with the right guidance, preparation, and support, homeownership is an attainable dream. As a city, we remain committed to connecting our residents with the resources and partnerships that can help turn that dream into reality.”
