The West Orange Arts Council presents “Soccer Ball Art of the Game,” an exhibit showcasing ordinary soccer balls transformed into extraordinary works of art opened on Sunday, June 7 at the West Orange Arts Center gallery at 551 Valley Road through July 2026.
Celebrating creativity, connection, and inspired by the international excitement surrounding the world’s most anticipated soccer tournaments, the exhibit features original works by West Orange Arts Council member artists Judyann Affronti, Simone Anthony-Brown, Peter Astor, Andrei Averbuch, Jeanette Averbuch, Mary Byrnes, Kwaku Debrah, Dan Fenelon, Kathleen Heron, Arlene Hirst, Manman Huang, Bradford Hunter, Bernard Jackson, Carol T. Jenkins, Christos Kambolis, Shinyoo Kim, Jody Leight, Aron Lifshultz, Hugh Mahon, Mac McParland, Patricia Mitrano, Barbara Sax, Lisa Suss, Cassandra St. Jean, Denise Toney, Holly Williamson, Heather Young, Zitro, and more than 40 community artists of all ages.
On view through July at the West Orange Arts Center, completed soccer ball art will also be on display at various locations throughout West Orange during June and July, bringing art directly into the community and encouraging residents and visitors to explore the collection.
"Soccer, like art, is a universal language, and both connect us in ways that words cannot,” said Patricia Mitrano, chair of the West Orange Arts Council. "Through this unique project, we’re bringing together artists and athletes, businesses and community members, celebrating creativity and World Cup Fever together."
