‘Becoming Gandhi’: West Orange Author Will Speak About Latest Book
Perry Garfinkel's latest book – which contains a foreword by the Dalai Lama – is now published in five countries.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Longtime New York Times contributor and bestselling author Perry Garfinkel will speak about his latest book, “Becoming Gandhi,” during an upcoming appearance at the West Orange Public Library.
The author talk will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 29. A Q&A session and book signing will follow the discussion. Learn more here.
Garfinkel’s research took him to India, the U.K. and South Africa. The book – which contains a foreword by the Dalai Lama – is now published in five countries: the United States, India, Germany, Portugal and Brazil.

Garfinkel, who grew up in West Orange, graduated from Rutgers University. He has worked at the Newark Star Ledger, the Boston Globe and the Martha's Vineyard Times, and has written for National Geographic Magazine, the AARP mag and other publications.
