Book Swap Your Unwanted Books

You can donate old books and shop for others at the Essex County Environmental Center on Saturday.

Got a lot of unwanted paperbacks? Maybe your cookbooks are piling up? Or, your kids have outgrown those baby board books.

This weekend, you can donate your used books and also shop for other books at the third annual Essex County Book Swap being held at the county's environmental center at 621B Eagle Rock Avenue in Roseland.

From 8:30 to 11:30, people are invited to donate their unwanted books and in exchange, will receive a voucher that can be used to purchase books once the swap book sale opens at 12:30 p.m. Books my also be purchased with cash.

The book sale takes place until 3 p.m.

All of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Essex County Parks Foundation and will be used to sponsor educational programs and projects at the environmental center.

“Our Book Swap at the Environmental Center is a great way to avoid throwing away your unwanted books and give them a second life, and for you to pick up some new treasures to enjoy reading,” said Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo.

The Book Swap iss being co-sponsored by the Smart Little House of Roseland.  Admission is free but books will be available for purchase. For additional information, call the Environmental Center at 973-228-8776.
