I can't help but think that since the dawn of time, since the time that we have recorded history, we find evidence of memorial.
It just makes sense to take time at a designated and sacred "set apart" place and time to remember.
Today we remember the the hundreds of thousands of Americans who paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy life in the greatest society under God. We believe that because of God's providence we live in the United States of America and our constitutional republic has become the reason that many now in all of the world seek what we understand is the unalienable, divine right of liberty in law abiding freedom.

Unfortunately we also learn from ancient times that freedom opposes evil and evil is very real – it seeks to destroy God's endowments. Today, we remember that Ultimate Sacrifice must occur in order to secure these the greatest of temporal and eternal gifts. We remember that "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."
We also thank God today because he has birthed in a new generation of Americans the will to defend us and pay the ultimate price if need be. God speed and God richly bless you all who serve!
