Winning is a Team Sport
Winning is a team sport on and off the field. Whether it's sports, in the classroom or the political arena, vision, results and a positive outcome are what we strive for.
I love this time of the year. Students, teachers and parents are all moving forward together with back-to-school night, school supplies and ready to root for their teams. Football, tennis, soccer and cheerleading just to name a few.
Being on the same team brings out the best in all of us. We have the same vision (to win), we feel the same way (passionate) and we all want the same end result (to be champions). As the year progresses, we encounter unexpected circumstances which can occur on and off the field. We sometimes lose vision along the way but in the end we all want the same outcome ... TO WIN! Winning in the classroom is about working hard as a group to learn more than we knew before, do the best that we can and as a result ... get the best grade possible. Winning in the classroom is just like winning on the field except that you may not have a large group of supporters to cheer you on. But just remember, when we all do our due diligence with doing our best, we are champions!
With the current political climate on a national, state and local level, we all win if we respect the views of others, listen and debate intellectually and in the end when all else fails ... agree to disagree. Now that's WINNING!
