Your Central Air Conditioning System: Have you Checked for Mold and Bacteria?

Getting ready for summer means more than a drive down the NJ shore. Have you had your professional air conditioning contractor check your A/C system?

It's a beautiful day in New Jersey! The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming (and yes, many of us are sneezing) and while today's temperatures are not the familiar 3H's (hazy, hot and humid)  that we NJ Contractors keep our eyes open for, those hot days are coming when your windows are closed tight, and your central air conditioning runs, non-stop, for days and weeks at a time.

Let's say you are one of those responsible folks with a great memory and you change your disposable air filter each and every month (TIP: Pay your mortgage on the first, change your air conditioning filter!) OK, let's be realistic — let's say you try to remember, as we know just how busy you are ...

You may notice that because air conditioning systems remove humidity and moisture from the air within your home, and dust and particulates are always present in everyone's homes (these small particles made up of skin cells, animal dander, pollen, dust and more are ever-present) that an accumulation may occur where residual moisture resides (within the duct at the cooling coil of your central A/C system).  Mold may develop, along with bacteria and by virtue of the function of your A/C system, will be circulated throughout your home.

Installing an Ultraviolet Light within the duct can stop the spread of mold and bacteria and keep your coil clean, and therefore create a healthier environment and help the efficiency of your system at the same time. A win-win situation! So, we've created a cleaner home, a more efficient air conditioning system and rid your home of the mold that is lurking on your coil without your knowledge! Don't you feel better already?

It's always a great idea to have your central air conditioning system serviced by a professional at the start of each season. You'll avoid costly breakdowns in your system and have the comfort and peace of mind knowing you're ready for the hot weather ahead!
