Details On Fatal N.J. Highway Crash: Man Hit By Car, 3 Vehicles

One person was killed and another seriously injured in a three-car N.J. highway accident on Saturday, police said.

The accident happened at about 12:40 a.m. on Interstate 80 when a Honda Civic hit a man who had gotten out of his tractor-trailer after pulling over, according to the State Police.

Johan Rojas, 24, of West Orange, the Honda driver, then crashed into the back of the tractor-trailer and spun into the center lane where it was hit by another car.

The West Orange crash happened near mile-marker 6.2 and closed the eastbound side of the highway for more than four hours, State Police said.

Victor Wright, 54, of Philadelphia was taken to University Hospital in Newark after suffering serious injuries, police said.
