Police say they have located the driver and car allegedly involved in a hit-and-run accident in New Jersey Sunday that involved an off-duty cop.
An off-duty New York police officer was killed in a hit-and-run incident near Newark Airport early Sunday morning, according to New Jersey State Police.
News 12 and PIX11 reports released no details on the driver, but said the person hadn’t been charged as of early Monday.
Vincent Harrison, 26, was driving his 2013 Chevrolet Cruze going southbound on the New Jersey Turnpike when he was struck by a 2003 Ford Escape around 3 a.m., police said. Harrison got out of the car when he was struck by a 2008 Infiniti going southbound.
The driver of the Infiniti fled the scene, police said. Harrison was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An NYPD spokesman told Pix 11 Harrison worked the 100th Precinct in Rockaway Beach, Queens.
