Car Stolen From West Orange Apartment Building Parking Lot: Police
Broken glass was found on the ground where the car was parked. Nothing of value was inside at the time, the victim told West Orange police.
WEST ORANGE, NJ — A car was stolen from the parking lot of a West Orange apartment building last week, authorities say.
According to the West Orange Police Department, officers responded to a residence on Old Short Hills Road at 12:28 a.m. on July 17 after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft.
The victim told officers that he parked his grey 2016 Kia Sportage in the parking lot around 6:30 a.m. on July 16. It was stolen sometime between 4:30 and 10 p.m. on July 17.

The victim said he discovered the theft around 10 p.m. on July 16 when he tried to use the key fob to lock his car, but didn’t see the lights flash or hear the horn honk.
Officers found broken glass on the ground in the area where the car was parked. Nothing of value was inside at the time of the theft.

No video surveillance was recovered of the theft, and no suspects were found after a search of the area, police added.
