Cops Offer $10K Reward To Catch East Orange Man’s Killer
The victim worked at a juvenile detention center, but there's no evidence the shooting was related to his employment, prosecutors said.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Police are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooter who killed an East Orange man earlier this month.
On Wednesday, the Essex County Sheriff’s Office announced it is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the murder of Laquan Nowlin, 32, of East Orange.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Nowlin was sitting in his vehicle at the intersection of Lanark and Sanford Avenue on July 3, when a person got out of the passenger seat of a dark-colored sedan and fatally shot him.

The suspect returned to the passenger seat and the vehicle fled southbound on Sanford Avenue from the murder scene, prosecutors said.
Nowlin worked at a juvenile detention facility, but so far, there is no evidence that the shooting was related to his employment, prosecutors said Wednesday.
