Donations Needed For Prom Dress, Suit Giveaway In Essex County

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Prom night is a milestone for many teens, but not every family can afford the formal attire that makes the night truly special. That’s why Uplift Society is hosting a “Prom Dress and Suit Giveaway” event to help every student get the chance to shine on their big night – free of charge.

Are you a student in need of a dress or suit? There will be four locations and dates where you can pick them up (register online here):

EAST ORANGE

• Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Family Success Center, 132 South Harrison Street

ORANGE

• Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Fellowship Cathedral, 70 Main Street

NEWARK

• Friday, May 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. at West Side High School, 403 South Orange Avenue
• Friday, May 9 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Dr. E. Alma Flagg School, 150 Third Street

HOW TO DONATE

Got some new or gently used formalwear that could use a new home?

Organizers are seeking donations of dresses, suits, shoes and accessories for graduates-in-need. Donations will be collected until April 24, and can be dropped off at 86 South Harrison Street in East Orange.
