City Workers Chase Down Robbery Suspect In East Orange: Officials
A pair of Department of Public Works employees leaped into action when they saw a man rob an elderly woman in East Orange, authorities say.

EAST ORANGE, NJ — East Orange officials recently paid tribute to two Department of Public Works workers who foiled an alleged robbery.
Earlier this month, Syid Griggs and Khalil Oliviera saw a man rob an elderly woman on Main Street, East Orange city officials said.
Griggs and Oliviera – both employees with the city – leaped into action, chasing down the suspect and apprehending him until police arrived on the scene, officials said.

On Oct. 17, Mayor Ted Green, the East Orange City Council and the East Orange Police Division recognized the pair with Citizen Awards for their “bravery and quick response.”
