Driving Class In West Orange May Help Save On Insurance: AARP

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The AARP is offering motorists in the West Orange area a chance to brush up on their driving skills, and possibly get a discount on their car insurance while they’re at it.

On Monday, Jan. 29, the AARP will hold a “Smart Driver Class” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the West Orange Public Library, 46 Mt. Pleasant Ave. Participants will receive a certificate on completion of the course that may be good for a premium reduction for three years from their insurance carrier (interested drivers should contact their provider to determine any possible discount).

While it’s designed as a refresher for drivers 50-years-old and over, the class is open to drivers of all ages. In some cases, NJ MVC points can be removed on completion of the class, according to the AARP.

Pre-registration is required. The fee is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. Contact Howard Gottlieb to register at (973) 325-1609.
