East Orange Man Fatally Shot In Essex County

Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Monday night in Orange.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Orange police officers responded to the area of Main and Park Streets around 9:30 p.m. on reports of shots fired.

Arriving officers located an unresponsive male lying in the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim, Mazo F. Jones, 37, of East Orange, was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:52 p.m.
