East Orange Man, 59, Fatally Shot Outside His Apartment

EAST ORANGE, NJ — A man died after being shot outside his apartment in East Orange last weekend, authorities announced Wednesday.

Troy Traynham, 59, was shot outside his Chestnut Street apartment on Saturday. He was transported to University Hospital in Newark, where he was pronounced dead at 4:48 p.m., according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the East Orange Police Department.

“At this time, no arrests have been made,” prosecutors said. “The investigation is active and ongoing.”
