East Orange Man Found With Fatal Stab Wounds In His Apartment: Police

A 41-year-old East Orange resident was found with multiple stab wounds. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday, authorities said.

EAST ORANGE, NJ -- An East Orange man was found with fatal stab wounds in his apartment on Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Police were asked to respond to the 200-block of South Burnett Street to check on the welfare of a man at that residence, according to a statement from the Essex County Prosecutor's Office and the East Orange Police Department.

Police found Kenneth Wilkerson Jr., 41, in his apartment suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:30 a.m.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the fatal stabbing. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday afternoon, prosecutors said.
