East Orange Teen Dies In Shooting On Hoffman Boulevard: Police

No arrests have been made as of Monday, authorities said.

EAST ORANGE, NJ — A teen was fatally shot in East Orange on Sunday night, authorities said.

Ahlayah Bowens, 18, of East Orange, was shot on Hoffman Boulevard around 9:10 p.m. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:24 p.m., according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the East Orange Police Department.

No arrests have been made as of Monday, authorities said.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force and the East Orange Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting.
