Essex County Cops Offer $5K Reward To Catch Teen’s Murderer

Davon Jones, 17, was murdered in a triple shooting. Essex County authorities issued a $5,000 reward for info leading to his killer's arrest.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Essex County authorities are offering a reward up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Davon Jones.

Jones was fatally shot in Orange on April 14, according to a Tuesday statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Essex County Sheriff’s Office.

“At approximately 10 p.m. Jones and two other males were in the 100 block of Taylor Street, where he lives, when a light color SUV with multiple occupants drove up and began shooting at Jones and two other males.”

Three people were shot during the encounter. Jones died from his injuries at University Hospital in Newark; the two other victims survived, authorities said.
