Essex County Earth Day 2016: Annual Celebration Will Feature Family-Friendly Activities

The county will host its 11th Annual Earth Day Celebration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, at Essex County Environmental Center, 621B Eagle Rock Avenue in Roseland.
According to a county news release, the family-friendly event will feature hands-on educational games and activities, canoe trips, bird walks, environmental information booths, live nature-themed music and an “eco-market.”

During the event, Essex County Beekeepers Society station will show the inner workings of a bee hive and offer local, award-winning honey and other bee products for purchase.

- The New Jersey Woodturners will demonstrate how art is created from found pieces of wood and fallen tree branches
- NJ Audubon will offer visitors a nature scavenger hunt activity
- The Montclair Art Museum will be represented by its mobile art truck
- The 4-H Club will present its Annual Fair
Admission is free and merchandise from vendors will be for sale.
The event is sponsored by PSEG, Whole Foods, Rezza Trattoria e Pizza Romana in Roseland, Covanta and Aramark.
