Essex County Teen Reported Missing; Has Disappeared Before, Group Says
The same teen was reported "possibly abducted" and eventually found in January, a missing persons group says.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Newark police confirmed to Patch on Friday that a 15-year-old female has been reported missing in Essex County. The same teen has been reported missing before, according to Locate the Missing, a national missing persons website.
Locate the Missing stated that Candice McDaniel “vanished from the city of Newark” on Thursday. According to the website:
“Candice is 5 foot 3 inches tall, weighs pounds, has long, dark brown hair [tied] in a ponytail, brown eyes and a birthmark on her lower left lip. She was last seen wearing ripped blue jeans, with a black Champion hooded sweatshirt, a black leather jacket, purple and white Nike shoes, gold hoop earrings and a silver necklace with a dolphin pendant that says ‘Big Sis.’”

A Locate the Missing “possible abduction” alert in January stated that McDaniel was eventually found safe after disappearing for several days in Newark.

That alert stated:
“UPDATE FOUND SAFE… Possible abduction… Police in Newark were notified of a teen who has gone missing for several days. According to the family, 15-year-old Candice McDaniel has been missing since 9 p.m. Monday evening from the 20's block of Seabury Street… She was last seen wearing blue puffy pajama pants, a black tank top, and a black jacket… Candice McDaniel is from New York but moved to Newark.”
