Construction of Northfield Avenue Strip Mall Could Start This Summer

Strip mall on Essex House property could take off in June

The strip mall planned along Northfield Avenue on the Essex House property has yet to break ground after .

Robert C. Williams, the attorney with the project, said construction would hopefully begin by the end of June after the list of vendors was finalized.

The project will erect six stores, a bank, a day care center and 118 parking spaces along the 14,435-square-foot property on Northfield Avenue. The plan will also maintain the The Essex House Restaurant's historically aesthetic look.

Once construction begins on the property, though, the restaurant will close down.

Though he would not release the names of the stores, he said a list of proposed tenants would likely be disclosed in June.
