A Show of HANDS Neighborhood Walking Tour Introduces Community to the Valley Arts District

 

HANDS, Inc.  hosts A Show of HANDS Neighborhood Walking Tour series introducing the neighboring communities to the Valley Arts District. Tuesday, March 27th at 6:00 P.M. will kick off the second round of free one hour scheduled tours in the Valley neighborhood of Orange and West Orange, NJ.

The spring tour series takes tour-goers around to rehabilitated industrial and commercial buildings now occupied by note-worthy cultural anchors like Luna Stage Theatre Company and the award winning restaurant, Hat City Kitchen. Stops include a community earth oven, hydroponic greenhouse, Ironworks  and youth arts studio, No Name Hat factory owned by the Stetson brothers and much more.

Tour dates for the spring season are as followed: Tuesday evenings, 6:00 - 7:00 pm: March 27th, April 10th, May 8th and Saturday mornings, 11:00 - noon: April 7th, April 21st, and May 19th.

In addition to learning about the work of HANDS, you’ll discover why we call it Hat City, see some hidden gems and get a peek at the growing artist community. Tuesday evening tours will be led by Molly Rose Kaufman, Community Organizer or Andrew Davlorous, Property Manager, and Saturday morning tours will be led by the Executive Director of HANDS Patrick Morrissy.
