Thomas Edison National Historical Park will once again be participating in the Great Backyard Bird Count. This annual event engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are across the continent. Anyone can participate, from beginning bird watchers to experts.
A formal talk about Mina Edison and her bird watching and a Ranger lead walk will take place at the Glenmont Estate on Saturday and Sunday at 1:30pm and again at 3:30pm on both days. Visitors are also more than welcome to walk around the Glenmont grounds and do their own bird count.
There is a $7 entrance fee to the park for anyone 16 years of age and older. Visitors wanting to visit the Glenmont Estate, must first obtain a car pass and tour tickets from the Laboratory Complex Visitor Center at 211 Main Street, West Orange.
