Feigenbaum's Mound Effort Not Enough for West Orange

Mountaineers fall to Morris Knolls

Senior righty Corey Feigenbaum pitched seven strong innings, allowing four hits, but the West Orange baseball team fell to Morris Knolls 3-1 in West Orange.

Feigenbaum allowed four hits, struck out four and allowed three earned runs in the complete-game outing. Joe Boettinger hit a solo homer in the second inning and the Mountaineers (1-1) protected that lead until the seventh when the Eagles scored three runs.

Feigenbaum held Knolls hitless through five innings, but the Golden Eagles (1-2) put their first four men aboard in the seventh. After junior catcher Stevo Rosen walked and junior shortstop Evan Steidl doubled to begin the inning, senior third baseman Jackson Baird singled to right to plate Mike Reggianni, who pinch ran for Rosen. Cody Greenhagen then drilled an infield single off Feigenbaum's glove, and an errant throw to first brought Steidl and Baird around to score.
