WEST ORANGE, NJ — Emergency responders put out a car fire in a hotel parking lot in West Orange last weekend, authorities say.
According to the West Orange Police Department, patrol units responded to the Residence Inn on Prospect Avenue after getting a report about a car fire at 6:06 p.m. on Sunday.
Police found a 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser with flames coming from under the hood. A West Orange Fire Department crew soon arrived and extinguished the flames, authorities said.

The vehicle owner said she saw smoke coming from under the hood after getting off exit 8B on I-280 West. She parked the car and got out after she started to smell smoke coming through the air vents.
The vehicle – which was insured – was towed from the scene, police said.
