Former Orange Mayor Eldridge Hawkins Jr. lost his appeal in state court where he claimed he was unfairly paid less than two other officers.

Former Orange Mayor Eldridge Hawkins Jr. lost his appeal in state court on Thursday where he claimed he was unfairly paid less than two fellow West Orange police officers.

Hawkins claimed Officers William K. Sayers and Brad Squires had received special treatment because they were white and of Irish descent, but he failed to provide proof that the two officer’s pay increases were due to unlawful discrimination, according to nj.com.
