Free Women's Health Screenings Available In Essex County: Pelvic/Breast Exams, PAP Smears Offered

Low-income Essex County women can get free female health exams during the May 25 event.

Low-income Essex County females without health insurance will have free access to several exams during a women’s clinic event on Wednesday, May 25.

According to a news release, the free screenings will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Montclair Municipal Building, 205 Claremont Avenue, 3rd floor, in Montclair.

The following will be offered:

  • Pelvic Examination
  • PAP Smear Testing for early detection of cervical cancer
  • Clinical Breast Examination
  • Mammogram Referral ( if eligible)
  • Colorectal Test kit ( if eligible)
  • Cancer Education

Eligibility requirements include:

  • Age 21 or over
  • Essex County resident
  • No health insurance
  • Limited income ( 2016 Federal Poverty guidelines)

The program is a partnership between the Nutley Health Department in partnership with the Montclair Health Department and Rutgers New Jersey Medical School- S.A.V.E Program. It’s funded by the New Jersey Cancer Education and Early Detection (NJCEED).
