High School Principal Retiring in September

The principal at West Orange High School will retire in September, school officials announced Monday.

Arthur Alloggiamento has been with the high school for 10 years.

"He has been an exceptional principal," Donna Rando, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction in the district, told Patch.

With 40 years experience in education, "He will be a difficult person to replace," Rando said.

Alloggiamento previously worked as a deputy superintendent in New York.

As the search for a new principal begins, the district will host a public meeting March 19 at the high school for parents and staff members. The public will be allowed to weigh in on what qualifications and criteria they desire in their new principal.

"We need someone that's hard working and willing to roll up their sleeves to get things done," Rando said.

The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at the Tarnoff Cafeteria.
