WEST ORANGE, NJ — The holiday season cheer is emerging in West Orange. And as the township gears up for its annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, there’s good news for commuters and residents: parking at metered sites will be free for the holidays.
The annual West Orange Christmas Tree Lighting event will take place on the front lawn of Town Hall, 66 Main Street. The family-friendly event will include a petting zoo, holiday characters, performances and giveaways, a municipal notice states.

FREE PARKING
According to municipal officials, West Orange will relax its parking rules for the holidays from Wednesday, Nov. 22 to Jan. 1, 2018. During this time:

- West Orange will offer FREE metered parking from Thanksgiving Day (11/23) through New Years Day (1/1)
- Alternate-side parking rules are suspended through Jan. 1 and overnight parking enforcement is not in effect.
- Parking restrictions that allow the township to thoroughly plow the streets during a snow emergency remain in effect.
