Irish Heritage Inspires Smiles In West Orange At St. Patrick’s Parade

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Another amazing Saint Patrick’s Day parade hit the streets of West Orange last weekend, bringing the local Irish community together for a day of celebration and good will.

The annual West Orange St. Patrick's Day Parade kicked off along its Main Street route on Sunday, marking its 70th incarnation in 2023.

The West Orange St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee honored Michael “Mike” McCormick as this year’s grand marshal. Meg McNerney Brill, Rich Hughes and Michele McCue Shaffer served as deputy grand marshals. Learn more about the parade and this year’s honorees here.

This year’s parade included students from West Orange, town officials, pipe bands, police and fire representation and more. In addition, the Castlerea Brass and Reed Band traveled from County Roscommon, Ireland to march in the parade.
