WEST ORANGE, NJ — Cities and counties across the country continue to bring back many of the traditional Independence Day activities that were either canceled or modified the last two years. July 4 is just around the corner, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near West Orange in 2022.

The Township of West Orange will hold a 4th of July Celebration on Monday, July 4 at West Orange High School, 51 Conforti Avenue. Learn more here.
According to a municipal notice, the event beings at 1 p.m. will include food trucks, a "kids zone," DJ music and activities. A fireworks show is scheduled to kick off at dusk (around 9:15 p.m.)

All municipal offices in West Orange will be closed on July 4. There will be no regular trash or recycling pickups. The next pickup will be Thursday, July 7 for trash and bulk trash, and Monday, July 11 for recycling. There will be no regular jitney service.
ESSEX COUNTY FIREWORKS/CONCERTS
Essex County's popular, free fireworks and concert series will return for 2022, officials recently announced. Read More: Summer Concert Series Includes 3 Fireworks Shows
The county's annual SummerMusic Concert Series brings a diverse group of musicians and entertainers together to perform at locations throughout the Essex County Park System. There will be three "fireworks spectaculars" held after concerts this year:
- Friday, June 24 (at 7:30 p.m.) - Branch Brook Park in Newark/Belleville. New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, followed by a fireworks spectacular.
- Tuesday, June 28 (at 7:30 p.m.) - Weequahic Park in Newark. Lady Supreme: A Diana Ross Experience, followed by a fireworks spectacular.
- Friday, July 1 (at 7:30 p.m.) - Brookdale Park in Bloomfield/Montclair. The Infernos followed by a fireworks spectacular.
Concerts are held at accessible sites. People who require special accommodations or assistance should call at least two weeks prior to the concert to alert staff as to their needs.
