Public hearing tonight before BOE members vote on the budget

Tonight is your last chance to comment on the school budget before the board of education casts their vote.
The West Orange Board of Education will meet Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at the media center at West Orange High School. Officials will vote on whether to approve a proposed operating budget of $129 million.

Mark Kenney, business administrator for West Orange schools, told Patch, this year's tax rate increase is "one of the lowest in history" and a reduction from last year's school tax of $99 for a typical single-family home.
This year residents this year will not vote on the budget after the school board opted to , eliminating the public vote.
