Man Found With Fatal Stab Wounds At East Orange Apartment: Prosecutors
A fatal stabbing took place in East Orange over the weekend, authorities announced Monday.
EAST ORANGE, NJ — A fatal stabbing took place in East Orange over the weekend, authorities announced Monday.
East Orange police responded to an apartment on the 500-block of Main Street at 11:29 a.m. on Sunday, finding an unresponsive male victim with stab wounds, according to a statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the East Orange Police Department.
The victim – later identified as William Gilliam, 51 of East Orange – was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:01 p.m.

The Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force, which includes detectives from the East Orange Police Department, is investigating Gilliam’s death. Authorities said anyone with information can contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s tip line at 877-847-7432.
