​A man was shot and killed while riding a motorcycle early Monday in New Jersey, according to authorities.

A man was shot dead while riding a motorcycle early Monday in New Jersey, according to authorities.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office confirmed to Patch that a homicide investigation is underway after Neil Myers, 23, of Irvington was shot and killed in Orange.

The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. when gunfire erupted in the vicinity of 360 Park Avenue, sending police to the scene where they found a man wounded, according to the ECPO.

Emergency personnel rushed the victim to University Hospital in Newark where the unidentified man was pronounced dead, according to the ECPO.
