Memorial Day 2022 In West Orange: Ceremony, Closures, Traffic

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A 2022 Memorial Day observance will take place in West Orange to commemorate fallen servicemembers.
The ceremonial event will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 30 at Town Hall, 66 Main Street. It will include appearances from the WOHS AFJROTC Cadet Corps and town historian Joseph Fagan, as well as Rob Adams (trumpet) and Lynette Sheard (vocalist). Learn more here.
In order to accommodate the event, Main Street will be closed between Northfield Avenue and Mt. Pleasant Avenue between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m., according to a municipal advisory.

“Limited access will be allowed for patrons of businesses between Northfield Avenue and Lindsley Avenue,” the advisory said. “Signs as well as officers will be present to assist the general public. Please plan alternate travel routes as necessary.”

TOWN OFFICES CLOSED, NO TRASH/RECYCLING/JITNEY
West Orange town officials noted that all municipal offices will be closed on Monday, May 30.
There will be no regular trash or recycling pickup due to the holiday. The next pickup will be on Thursday, June 2 for trash and bulk trash. The next recycling pickup will be on Monday, June 6.
There will be no regular jitney service, officials said.
