Missing West Orange Teen Found In Good Health, Police Say (UPDATE)

The missing teen was last seen at home after leaving a soccer game. He has since been found, West Orange police said.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — UPDATE: Police said Wednesday that Gideon Akwei has been found and is in good health. Our original article follows below.

West Orange police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing teen, authorities announced Tuesday.

According to the West Orange Police Department, Gideon Akwei, 18, was last seen at his residence around 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 27 after attending a soccer game at West Orange High School. The following morning, his parents checked on him and noticed he was not in his bedroom.

Akwei is approximately 5 feet 6 inches and 165 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black sweatsuit and black sneakers. He is known to ride a black mountain bike, police said.

Authorities said anyone with information can contact the West Orange Police Department at 973-325-4000.
