Mountaineers Deliver No. 100 for Coach
West Orange beats Bloomfield as Wilson reaches milestone
West Orange High girls' basketball coach Kim Wilson kept her approaching milestone to herself. Wilson, in her eighth season as head coach of the Mountaineers, saw her team win the 99th game of her rein Thursday with a victory over Newark East Side.
No. 100 came Friday night.
The Mountaineers beat Bloomfield 51-32 at home. The Mountaineers are now 12-9 on the season.

Sophomore center Chisom Amaefuna recorded another double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for West Orange. Junior guard Alyssa Almario added 10 points and four assists. Junior point guard Allison Mejia had three points, six assists, three steals and three rebounds. Jazz Randall added six points for the Mountaineers.
"I didn't tell anybody," said Wilson, who was a standout athlete during her high school days at North Arlington and in college at Montclair State University. "It's a credit to all the teams and the great kids who played in the program."

Wilson also credited her assistant coaches, Karen Wynn and Christopher Evans.
Wilson has emphasized family, academics and loyalty over the years, and this team hasn't swayed from the message.
"We want to keep improving with each passing game, and I feel we've done that," said Wilson, whose team's next game is at Pequannock.
Wilson was a volleyball, basketball and softball player at North Arlington where she won 12 varsity letters, and went on to become a All American basketball and softball player at Montclair State University.
