"The score didn't look competitive, but a lot of the games went to deuce,'' said West Orange coach Jay Gitter. "I thought we played pretty nicely with them. We're a young team.''

Sruti Kantan, the Mountaineers No. 2 singles player, dropped a 6-3, 6-0 match to Bergen Tech's Rachel Elsen.

"Scruti played very well,'' Gitter said.

The Mountaineers will have a busy week. They play host to Verona Wednesday, then at Verona Thursday. They have another home game Friday with Cedar Grove.

"Winning in the first round (of the sectional playoff) was very good, we were feeling our oats, but we're young,'' Gitter said.
